ATLANTA (AP) - Alex Ovechkin scored his third goal of the game six seconds into overtime to power the Washington Capitals to a 3-2 win over the Atlanta Thrashers on Friday night.

Ovechkin stole an apparent victory from Atlanta by scoring the tying goal with only 30 seconds left in regulation. He took the puck from Niclas Havelid following the faceoff to open overtime and scored the unassisted goal.

The hat trick gave the Washington star 21 goals for the season.

Jean-Pierre Vigier gave Atlanta a 2-1 lead with less than 6 minutes left in regulation.

Ovechkin is king. How can you be that good at hockey:dunno:
Did you see the way he just stole the puck away from the Thrashers defender and skated in and won the game? That's just creepy man. :dunno:

And the game-tying goal wasn't much less impressive either. The puck was passed to his stick a few feet away with a half a minute to go, and he just threw it into the net.

Now his team is in the playoffs. We'll have to see if they can stay there.

And look at that --They're competing with Crosby and the Penguins.

On pace for another 50 goal season.

I have no idea. Maybe he doesn't have the limitations us regular human beings have. :dunno:

Ah, forget it. I have no idea! <-- *the shock effect left after seeing Ovechkin almost single-handedly steal a game still hasn't worn off*.
