CHILLIWACK, B.C. (CP) - Rookie centre Oscar Moller scored two goals in regulation and the winner in the shootout to lead the Chilliwack Bruins to an exciting 5-4 victory over the Prince George Cougars in Western Hockey League action on Saturday.
In the shootout, Moller beat Cougars goalie Real Cyr with a low shot on the glove side.
Mark Santorelli added the clincher for Chilliwack (7-19-2-1), while Eric Hunter and Nick Drazenovic were stopped by Bruins goaltender Alex Archibald on their attempts.
Craig Lineker and Josh Aspenlind scored Chilliwack's other goals in regulation, helping the team snap a three-game losing streak. Overall, Chilliwack has two wins in its past 12 games.
Nick Drazenovic, with two, Eric Hunter and Devin Setoguchi replied for Prince George (12-15-0-2), which fought back from a 4-0 deficit.
This was the fourth meeting between these two teams over the past two weeks, with each team winning twice.
The Bruins led 3-0 after the first period and extended the lead to 4-0 early in the second period when Moller stripped a Cougars defenceman of the puck and beat Cyr with a blocker-side shot on the ensuing breakaway.
The game appeared to be over.
Then, led by Drazenovic, the Cougars stormed back to make it 4-3 at the end of the second period.
Hunter cut the lead to 4-1 with a power-play deflection at 8:24, Drazenovic scored on a scramble at 10:41 and Drazenovic scored again on a shortshide wrist shot on a power play at 12:27.
