Should be given as an example of making a big hit without leaving your feet. WOuld love to know the number of feet that Paille was in the air.

Solid and clean hit by Brooksie. The Letang-Orpik pairing played an excellent game up in Boston.

Now only if the Martin-Michalek pairing would step it up a notch and follow suit. I have a minor stroke every time Martin has the puck on his stick for fear of a turnover.

For the most part, I've been pretty dissappointed with Martins play. For the price, he's playing pretty aweful.

For a puck moving defenseman, he's struggling big time. Look out next year if Despres makes a push.

What disturbs me even more is his -7 rating. While +/- doesn't always tell the complete tale, it does in Martin's case. His defensive game has taken a step backwards this season compared to last.

In my opinion, Lovejoy is a much better option and deserves the start over Martin. It seems like Lovejoy's game continues to improve every time he's on the ice. Unfortunately, Bylsma feels obligated to play Martin because he's getting $5.0 million.

I'm by no means a fan of Steigerwald, but I think the exaggeration was intentional. It's not like he was on the ice with a measuring tape and making the call.

It was exactly that, intentional exaggeration.
its kind of funny, I think many Pens fans feel the same about Steigy, and would love to have Mike Lange back on the air for the TV broadcasts.

Mike Lange will go down as one of the best game-callers in Pittsburgh sports history. He definately ranks up there with Cope and "The Gunner". When he was on top of his game, there were not many throughout the NHL who were better.

With that being said and I'm probably the minority, I feel Lange should stick with radio. In my opinion and pure nostalgia aside, Lange was losing his touch during his last 3-4 years on television and is better suited for radio at this point in his career. Radio forces him to pay attention and actually call the game.

This is just a hunch on my part, but I think the Penguins are slowly grooming Steve Mears to eventually take over for Steigerwald and I feel he would be an excellent choice. He's a local kid and received play-by-play radio experience on Long Island for three years. He's young and he knows the game. He would be my future choice.
