Not including standing room. Does anyone know what the original six arenas exact seating capacities were? I have an argument going about Detroit or Boston seating the least. Google searches have given all different numbers so the sources are flawed.

Mostly late 60's after the Olympia added those one end third deck seats until the mid 70's when they replaced those seats with private boxes. Ruining the coolness of the Olympia with those cool seats I might add. Also MSG II. I know MSG III seated 17,500 in the 60's- 70's when it was built with virtually no place for standing room. The prototype for todays uncool arenas.

Here are the seating capacity of the old madison square garden and prerenovated montreal forum from 1963.

I figured the Olympia was the smallest. I have 5 Danbury mint replicas of the original six. All except the Montreal forum which I can't get them to make and the Olympia looks the smallest. And MSG III not II. Thanks for the info.

The problem with the danbury mint with making a model of the old madison square garden is that there is not much out there as far as video and photos of the old MSG.I helped the danbury mint with there building the model of the olympia and i gave them plenty of video and photos to help them out.i also told them about the addition to the red wings locker room that was built in 1972.they did not know about it so we were lucky that they were told about it before they started with the model.

Sounds like you have some clout with Danbury Mint. Can you persuade them to make the Montreal Forum. I've tried countless times without success. That would complete my original six collection.

I talked with them about putting out models of the original six arenas back when they were doing olympia.i can suggest to them about the montreal forum but i have not talked to them since the olympia model came out.
