Wolves still winless

It's safe to say it was an improvement.

The Sudbury Wolves battled harder in their second game of the Ontario Hockey League season Sunday, but fell again to a Central Division rival. The Wolves dropped a tight 4-3 decision to the Brampton Battalion at Sudbury Community Arena to fall to 0-2-0-0 on the young season.

The Wolves outshot the Battalion 34-18 and had plenty of reason to think they could have won the game Sunday, something they couldn't say after they were manhandled Friday in their season opener, a 10-4 loss to the Mississauga IceDogs.

"I think everyone gave a much better effort as a team," Sudbury head coach/GM Mike Foligno said. "You're more proud in the recovery from a tough loss the other day. But at the same time, there's areas of the game we have to get better at and it's the details of the game that made the difference tonight."

Spits hit by Storm: Scoring woes continue

"We're awful right now," said goalie Anthony Guadagnolo, who preferred to look past the sugar-coating to the bitter truth.

"We're not playing good hockey. We have to pick up our game or we'll be winless for awhile," Guadagnolo said.

For those that missed the opener Friday, many of the same problems resurfaced Sunday.
