One more member of the Buffalo Sabres is headed to Dallas, TX for All-Star Weekend. Sensational sophomore Thomas Vanek will participate in the NHL YoungStars Game presented by Upper Deck, on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at American Airlines Center.
Vanek is tied with co-captain Chris Drury for the team lead in goals through 44 games and stands just three scores shy of surpassing his rookie total of 25 goals.
The six-foot-two, 208-pound right-winger has been a consistent contributor to the Sabres throughout the season, averaging more than a point a game.
Vanek's 23 assists and 47 points ranks third among Sabres scorers, behind Maxim Afinogenov and Daniel Briere.
