The oilers badly need a defenseman that can move the puck out its own zone quickly and precisely! Anybody know of anyone available who could fill this void?

Last year they thought Spacek could do it but even he didn't do the job that many hoped for. I would like to see a Bouwmeester/Redden type on the blue line for the Oilers. Not sure what they would have to give up to get a player like this but not too long ago they had Jeff Woywitka in the system who I believe will become that type of defenseman in the future. If only they had a farm club to create these players instead of always needing to look elsewhere.

some people wanted brewer to come back. they can get him for less than what they sold him for which is awesome. I don't think the oilers will ever see bouwmeester in their team cause well if you're florida you will never give him up. it just doesn't make sense unless florida is doing a wholesale.

There are rumours of them going after Joni Pitkanen. I think getting a player like him which would help a great deal in that department.

I heard last year that Bouwmeester could've been bought for a price. The Panthers at the time were looking for prospects and picks and likely more than anybody wanted to part with.
