(Sports Network) - Although the San Jose Sharks have been one of the NHL's best clubs this season, they haven't had much success recently when facing the Edmonton Oilers. The Pacific Division contenders will look to reverse that trend when the two teams face off tonight at Rexall Place.

Edmonton has won six of its last seven regular-season meetings with the Sharks, including two previous matchups in 2006-07, and also defeated San Jose in six games during last year's Western Conference semifinals. The Sharks have also lost three straight regular-season contests at Rexall Place and are 1-6-1 (one tie) in their last eight non-playoff games in Edmonton.

San Jose comes in with four victories in its last five overall outings, however, although the Sharks were defeated by St. Louis in their final game before the All-Star break. Manny Legace made 31 saves for his third shutout of the season to lead the Blues to a 1-0 victory on Saturday.

The Sharks fell despite outshooting St. Louis by a 31-13 margin on the night. Goaltender Evgeni Nabokov made just 12 saves in defeat.

San Jose brings a three-game road win streak into tonight's test and is an impressive 15-7-0 away from home on the season. The Sharks trail first-place Anaheim by only four points in the Pacific.
