(Sports Network) - The Edmonton Oilers will aim for their third consecutive victory tonight, when they welcome provincial rival Calgary to Rexall Place on the last day of action before the NHL All-Star break.
The Oilers posted a solid home win over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday in a rematch of last year's Western Conference finals. Ryan Smyth had a three-point night with two goals and an assist to lead Edmonton past Anaheim, 4-1.
Jason Smith and Toby Petersen also scored while Dwayne Roloson finished with 23 saves for the Oilers, who are playing the second test of a five-game homestand tonight. Edmonton is 14-8-2 as the host club this year.
The Oilers first game after the break will be next Friday's home test against San Jose.
Calgary earned a big home win Friday evening, as it defeated the suddenly- struggling Anaheim Ducks, Stephane Yelle tallied the deciding goal in the second period, and the Flames hung on to beat the Ducks, 3-2, at the Saddledome.
