(Sports Network) - The Edmonton Oilers will try to maintain their slim lead in the tightly-packed Northwest Division when they host the Colorado Avalanche this evening at Rexall Place.

Edmonton currently sits atop the division with 36 points, one more than Calgary and Vancouver and just two in front of the fourth-place Avalanche, who dealt the Oilers a 4-1 defeat in Colorado on Friday.

Tyler Arnason netted a goal and two assists to lead the Avs, while Milan Hejduk, John-Michael Liles and Wojtek Wolski also lit the lamp in the win. Peter Budaj had a relatively easy night between the pipes, as the Colorado goaltender needed to make just 18 saves.

Marc-Antoine Pouliot netted the lone Edmonton goal in the loss, the Oilers' third in four games. Dwayne Roloson gave up four goals on just 16 shots.

The Avalanche couldn't sustain their momentum in their most recent contest, as the club came out on the short end of a 2-1 decision at Chicago on Sunday. Adrian Aucoin netted the eventual game-winning goal on the power play in the second period, while Nikolai Khabibulin made the lead stand with 28 saves.
