The oakland coliseum built in 1966 was home to the seals there entire stay in the bay area from 1967 until 1976 when the team moved to cleveland.its capacity at the time for hockey was 13,061.the arena was built with a steel frame and glass surrounding the entire building.the coliseum was elevated so when you walked into the arena you were 50 rows up looking down at the ice surface.the oakland coliseum was to be renovated in the late 1990s with the entire insides to be gutted out and rebuilt.luxuary suits were also to be added and the seating capacity for hockey is to be increased to about 18,000. the NBAs Golden State Warriors still use the arena today.
