Theodore, Boudreau and Carbo

by Pat Hickey

Checking in from Washington with voices to set up Friday's game, which will see Jaroslav Halak in goal for the Canadiens. Expect Carey Price between the pipes Saturday vs. Buffalo in Montreal.

Alex Tanguay, Josh Gorges and Alex Kovalev, who took a therapy day today, are expected to play tomorrow.

José Theodore gets the start for Washington. The last time Theo faced the Canadiens was Oct. 21, 2006 at the Bell Centre, eight months after he'd been traded to Colorado. The Avalanche raced to a 3-0 lead and led 4-3 going into third period. Then Theodore gave up five goals in 30 minutes and the Canadiens won 8-5.

D'Agostini to join Habs in Washington

http://habsinsideout.com/main/11702

(News release) – The Montreal Canadiens announced tonight that forward Matt D’Agostini has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. He will join the team on Friday morning, and will attend the club’s practice at Verizon Center in Washington.

D’Agostini, 22, leads the Bulldogs in scoring, and ranks 3rd in the AHL with 25 points in 20 games (14 goals, 11 assists). He leads the club in goals (14), powerplay goals (5) and shots on goal (64). He also served 16 penalty minutes.

D’Agostini (6’00, 200 pounds), a right winger from Sault-Ste-Marie, Ontario was selected in the sixth round by the Canadiens, 190th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He played his first NHL game with the Canadiens during the 2007-08 season.

Tanguay is out with a suspected neck injury, Latendresse is back and he will be playing with Lang. Kostopoulos will replace Tanguay on Koivu's line as they did very well against Detroit together after Tanguay got injured.
OVECHKINNNNN!!!

Don't you just love that guy? (22 points in his last 10 games)
Man it must suck having a past player come back and bite you in the ass!

I'm assuming you're referring to Theodwhore? If you watched the game, you will have noticed that he wasn't tested. He looked shaky on just about every shot. Most of the shots were from the outside and he still juggled on most of them. If I'm a Caps' fan, I'm not reassured, that's for sure!

This game was a case of our team simply not showing up. Only our fourth line and Saku bothered playing in that game and that's alarming. I have a feeling that starting tonight, we might start seeing some veterans in the pressbox.

Last night, Kovalev had 14 minutes of ice time. Towards the end of the third period, while down 3-0, Carbonneau sent a message loud and clear to Kostitsyn, Plekanec and Kovalev. He sent Koivu's line (with Kostopoulos) on the first wave, then he sent the fourth line of Lapierre, Begin and Dandenault for the second wave. No Kovy.

I for one have never been a Kovalev fan and I'm glad that this is the last year of his contract. I'd like to see him traded now, so that the team can move on right away.

as injured and piecemeal as washingtons defence was i expected a better performance....seemed like they couldn't get any good scoring chances........back on the horse with a win over buffalo though
