BOUCHERVILLE, Thursday, December 21, 2006 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League today unveiled its school attendance report for the 2006 fall semester and the statistics show that 94% of players are attending academic institutions either on a part-time or full-time basis.

"The education of our players, whose ages vary between 16 and 20 years old, is one of our mandates," commented the coordinator of the QMJHL education policy, Denis Arsenault. "We have taken the necessary steps to ensure that our teams can fulfil this mandate, and they do so with remarkable efficiency. Once our players have completed their major junior careers, we want them to be able to pursue their academic careers with little or no catching-up to do in terms of what they have already learned and assimilated."

The QMJHL has created a few charts which show the demographic break down of players attending academic institutions.
