What do you guys expect out of the Hawks for next year? If Ruutu and Havlat can stay healthy, if Seabrook and Barker continue to improve, I think they could at least contend for the 8th playoff spot. The talent is there, their stars just need to remain healthy and their young guys need time to develope. With the addition of Toews and what should be another high lotto pick, I think next year could be the year the Hawks fly back into the playoffs.

No Question in my mind that the Blackhawks will no doubt make the playoffs next year. It Ruutu, Havlat, Smolinski, and Handzus all stay healthy like you said they will be playing good hockey. Then as you said if Barker and Seabrook continue to improve and Aucoin and Duncan Keith continue to step it up this team could be fighting for an even higher spot than 8th place. And if Khabibulin plays like he did in Tampa this team will do just fine. Not to mention Jonathan Toews will be playing for them and a few younger guys like Bolland and Bochenski might be too.

Good to hear someone else talk enthusiasticaly about the Blackhawks. Where Im from, the talk only consists of the Oilers, or the Flames.

Oh c'mon Canuck, you love all the Leafs talk!

I dunno about next year, I agree that the Blackhawks have a decent roster with some good, young, developing talent but next year might be a stretch.

IMO, the Preds, Wings, BlueJackets and perhaps even the Blues are all ahead of the Hawks, even next year.

I've been wrong before but ...
