Seems like the NHL is shooting itself in the foot with its new contract with ESPN, oops, I mean ESPN+, TNT (yeah right!! Big coverage there!!! NO!!!). Then there's the NHL channel where they show every game from that evenings schedule, but snippets of the game, not the whole game!! But subscribe to ESPN+ and stream as many games as you can.....for lots of $$$$$$$! Not going to do that! The NHL coverage stinks. How to promote the best game ever......by not showing it!

... oh, and they haven't fixed the blackout issue, either. I definitely have more thoughts on this than I have time right now, but I did want to welcome you to the site and thank you for a provocative question. No doubt this deal brought more money to the NHL. But is it going to fix what ails hockey as far as exposure and growing the fan base? I'm not so sure myself.
