Dale Arnold is out as home ice voice of the Bruins.

Veteran broadcaster Jack Edwards will be the team’s full-time play-by-play man on all of NESN’s 70 regular-season games next year.

Arnold, who served as the home games announcer since 1995, was offered another position on NESN telecasts, but due to his other work related commitments, decided not to accept the job.

Edwards has worked all B’s road games the past two seasons.

Edwards, a New Hampshire native and UNH graduate, served as a sports anchor, reporter and play-by-play announcer on both the local (Ch. 5 in Boston) and national levels. He spent 12 years with ESPN as a “SportsCenter” anchor and reporter and also served as a play-by-play announcer for the network covering a variety of sports, including NHL broadcasts from 1999 to 2003.

In addition to his duties at NESN, Edwards worked as a play-by-play announcer and studio host for Versus’ national coverage of the NHL.

On the ice, the feel-good story of Hull and Boston College product Bobby Allen took another positive turn when the Bruins re-signed the 28-year-old unrestricted free agent defenseman.

The B’s also signed 2003 draft choice Byron Bitz.
