VANCOUVER (CP) - Markus Naslund scored the only goal and netminder Roberto Luongo made 24 saves Tuesday night as the Vancouver Canucks ended a two-game losing skid by defeating the Columbus Blue Jackets 1-0.

Naslund gave the Canucks the lead with his 12th goal of the season in the second period. He took Henrik Sedin's pass at the Blue Jackets blue-line and beat two defenders, then goalie Pascal Leclaire on the backhand for his fourth goal in six games.

Luongo was solid for the Canucks, especially after they took the lead, and earned his second shutout in a Vancouver uniform and the 29th of his career.

Vancouver needed his effort as the goal-starved Canucks have scored two or fewer goals in 12 of their last 14 games

Vancouver was back to .500 at 12-12-1 with the win against the Blue Jackets, who are last overall with only 14 points from 23 games.

Columbus lost for the ninth time in 10 starts to fall to 6-15-2 and 1-2-0 under new coach Ken Hitchcock.

Luongo was called upon to preserve the lead in the second period by swiping a rolling the puck shot by Sergei Fedorov away from the goal line with his blocker hand.
