(Sports Network) - The St. Louis Blues play their second game under new head coach Andy Murray tonight when they visit the Colorado Avalanche at Pepsi Center.
Murray took over behind the bench on Monday when the team fired Mike Kitchen.
The Blues have lost their last eight games overall, including Tuesday's 3-2 tilt to visiting Chicago. Radim Vrbata had a goal and an assist to lift the Blackhawks.
Christian Backman had a goal and an assist for the Blues, whose eight consecutive defeats are a season high.
St. Louis goaltender Marek Schwarz made his first-career start and allowed three goals on 24 shots. Schwartz is up on the NHL roster because of injuries to both Manny Legace (concussion) and Chris Osgood (groin). Jason Bacashihua, who has appeared in a mere 24 NHL games, is the other goalie currently on the active roster.
The Blues will visit Nashville on Saturday to kick off a home-and-home.
