TORONTO (CP) - Oshawa Generals forward Dale Mitchell was named the Canadian Hockey League's player of the week on Wednesday while Tyler Plante of the Brandon Wheat Kings was recognized as top goalie.

Mitchell had five goals and 10 points in three games. The 17-year-old native of Mississauga, Ont., actually had two five-point games and was held scoreless in the other.

Colton Yellow Horn of the Tri-City Americans and Jerome Samson of the Val d'Or Foreurs were also nominated for the award.

Plante was named the CHL's top goalie after posting a 3-0 record with a 1.00 goals-against average and .963 save percentage.
