LONDON, Ont. (CP) - The London Knights weathered the Storm on Wednesday night and when it was over they had clinched a berth in the Ontario Hockey League playoffs.

David Meckler scored twice as London used a five-goal second period to propel them to a 7-6 win over Guelph. Sam Gagner put the Knights ahead 11:25 into the match, but Anton Hedman counted two as Guelph (25-16-2-7) took a 3-1 lead into the first intermission after outshooting the Knights 24-6 in the period.

The Knights returned the favour as they held a 26-4 margin in shots for the second period.

Meckler's second goal of the night cut the deficit to 5-3, with Kevin Montgomery, Patrick Kane and Sergei Kostitsyn scoring to give the Knights a 6-5 lead by the 17:45 mark.

But it was was short-lived as Luke Pither tied the game for the Storm within 59 seconds.

Robbie Drummond had the lone - and winning - goal for the Knights at 4:11 of the third period.
