VICTORIA (CP) - Kiel McLeod scored twice in the second period and Julien Ellis made 44 saves as the Victoria Salmon Kings downed the Fresno Falcons 6-3 in the lone ECHL game played on Thursday.

Gustav Engman and Milan Gajic gave the Salmon Kings a 2-0 lead after the first period. McLeod, with two, and Seamus Young made it 6-0 through 40 minutes for Victoria (4-4-0-1), which moved into second place in the West Division - a point ahead of Alaska, Utah and Phoenix.

Cory Murphy, with two, and Tyler Kindle responded in the third period for Fresno (6-2-0).

Greg Hornby added the final goal for the Salmon Kings, with Gajic and Wes Goldie contributing a pair of assists in the match.
