SEATTLE (CP) - Ian McKenzie scored goals 33 seconds apart in the second period to help the Seattle Thunderbirds beat the Portland Winter Hawks 5-1in Western Hockey League action Friday night.

Aaron Gagnon added a goal and two assists for the Thunderbirds and now has 50 points at the midway point of the season for Seattle (17-9-1-9).

Portland (11-24-0-1) took the early lead on a goal by Tristan King, but lost for the third time in a row when Seattle scored six goals in a row.
