The Guelph Storm Hockey Club announced that rookie goaltender Thomas McCollum is the Recovery Force Three Star Player of the Month for December.

The Sanborn, New York native wrapped up the honour with a first star effort in Sunday night's 3-0 shutout win over the Barrie Colts. In ten December appearances, McCollum had a 5-3-1 record with a 2.34 goals against average and 0.916 save percentage. Signed by the Storm this summer as an undrafted free agent, the 17 year old netminder finished the month with eight Recovery Force Three Star points.

Not eligible for the NHL Draft until the 2008 Draft, McCollum is currently ranked second in the OHL with a 2.40 goals against average, sixth in save percentage (0.917) and third in shutouts (two).

Recovery Force will present McCollum with a $50 cheque during the first intermission of the Storm's next home game on Friday, January 5th versus the Toronto St. Michael's Majors.

Past Recovery Force Three Star Player of the Month winners:

September / October - Tyler Doig (13 points)

November - Drew Doughty (11 points)
