CALGARY (CP) - Ben Maxwell of the Kootenay Ice scored the eventual winning goal in Red's 3-2 win over White in a Canadian junior hockey team intra-squad game Tuesday at selection camp.
Val-d'Or defenceman Kristopher Letang and Mathieu Perreault of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan also scored for Red.
Andrew Cogliano of the University of Michigan, Brandon Wheat Kings defenceman Dustin Kohn, Moose Jaw forward Kenndal McArdle and Claude Giroux of the Gatineau Olympiques had assists.
Steve Downie of the Peterborough Petes and Tom Pyatt of the Saginaw Spirit replied for White.
Calgary Hitmen defenceman Karl Alzner and Dan Bertram of Boston College picked up assists in front of about 200 spectators at Father David Bauer Arena.
Everett Silvertips goaltender Leland Irving allowed two goals on 16 shots for White before he was replaced by Peterborough's Trevor Cann, who stopped 20 of 21 shots.
Carey Price of the Tri-City Americans stopped nine of 10 before Lewiston's Jonathan Bernier came on in relief and turned away 11 of 12.
