NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Chris Mason stopped 38 shots to earn his fourth shutout of the season as the Nashville Predators beat the Boston Bruins 5-0 on Saturday night.

Paul Kariya, David Legwand and Jerred Smithson each scored and added an assist for Nashville.

Shea Weber and Josef Vasicek also scored for the Predators. Mason's four shutouts are the most he's had in a season.

Legwand opened the scoring as he shot a one-timer past Boston goalie Hannu Toivonen on a breakaway through the left face-off circle at 9:38 of the first period.

Weber gave the Predators a 2-0 lead in the first when he blasted a slap shot from the slot from just inside the blue line that beat Toivonen to his stick side at 16:36.

In the second period, Smithson scored for Nashville when Jordin Tootoo took a shot from the inside rim of the right circle that bounced off of his right side and into the net at 10:53.
