Lewiston, ME - More then 1500 teddy bears and other stuffed animals were tossed on the ice at the Lewiston MAINEiacs 4th Annual Teddy Toss that was held this past Friday, December 15th where the MAINEiacs played host to the Val-d'Or Foreurs. These stuffed animals will be donated to the following charities: Androscoggin Head Start and Child Care, Advocates for Children, AWAP, and other local charities!

This past Friday was the MAINEiacs 4th annual teddy toss presented by State Farm Insurance where we had 2948 fans and 1500+ stuffed animals tossed onto the ice. The crowd participation this time was 51% an increase of more then 20% from last season's teddy toss!

The success of this event shows how fortunate we are to have the support and generosity of people like you in our community. The Lewiston MAINEiacs thank you for your participation in this exciting event that is for a good cause. Thank you for making a difference in someone's life.

QMJHL Trade Period Opened on Monday, December 18, 2006

The Lewiston MAINEiacs have completed 2 trades thus far in the trading period. The MAINEiacs sent goaltender Travis Fullerton to the Saint John Sea Dogs in exchange for a 4th round draft pick in 2007 and a 6th round draft pick in 2008. Fullerton had been playing for the Moncton Beavers of the Maritime Jr. A Hockey League, after serving as the backup to Jonathan Bernier in the 2005-2006 season and limited action in the 2004-2005 season having played in just 2 games for Lewiston.

In a separate deal, the MAINEiacs dealt 19-year old Daniel Basque to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in exchange for an 11th round pick in 2007. Basque had been playing for the Miramichi Timberwolves of the Maritime Jr. A Hockey League.

The MAINEiacs next game is December 27th when they play host the Moncton Wildcats at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée.
