The world's premier Midget AAA invitational tournament is set to get underway again this December 26th. I've been going to this tournament since 1982 and the hockey is fantastic. If you're anywhere near the Calgary area from Dec. 26 - Jan 1st come check it out. Future NHLers are playing here in front of top scouts from 8am to 10:30pm.

Toronto Marlboros Holiday Classic starts December 26th and can go to December 30th. Minor Midget AAA, Major Bantam AAA, Minor Bantam AAA teams will all be competing infront of Hundreds maybe thousands of scouts. Apparently it is the Largest Tournament for AAA hockey in all of North America right after Christmas. If you're good and havent been noticed by scouts yet, this is the Tourney where they are going to notice you. cant wait

Interesting tournament. Don Mills Major Midget AAA team will be in Calgary while their Minor Midget AAA team will be in Toronto for the holidays.

The Mac's Tournament is perhaps best known internationally for the defection of Petr Nedved following the Championship game back in 1988. When the trophy was brought out on the ice they looked for the team captain to give it to but Petr was already making his way to a waiting car outside the Olympic Saddledome. The Czechoslokavian government was not impressed. Throughout the years a ton of future NHL stars have played in the Mac's including of recent memory Sidney Crosby (two years in a row with different teams - Dartmouth Subways and Shattuck St. Mary's), Zach Parise, Ryan Malone, Jarome Iginla, Nikos Tselios, Mike Modano, Jay Bouwmeester, and the list goes on and on. 7 solid days of great hockey action.

I imagine that the Marlies tournament has a similar pedigree.

Your correct, both these tournaments have produced future NHL stars and I imagine the Macs probaly has hundreds, maybe thousands of scouts at it too. Is they're any other huge tourneys going on at the time of these 2 tourneys?

Also in the Minor Midget loop in Toronto they're is a total of 60 teams. Major Bantam there is 60 teams, and Minor Bantam there is 48 teams. In total there will be 168 teams from all over North America in the Toronto area from the 26th to the 30th playing in the Holiday Classic.
