Lindros expected to play against Sens

Mark Messier and Glen Sather won't be the only ones back in New York Sunday when the Rangers host the Ottawa Senators.

Rangers centre Eric Lindros is expected to make his return to the lineup, after missing four games with a scratched left cornea.

Lindros suffered the injury in the first period of a 6-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Nov. 12. He was placed on injured reserve last week, retroactive to that date.

The 30-year-old Lindros missed seven games with a sprain in the area where his left shoulder and collarbone meet the chest. He suffered that injury in a 3-1 win over Florida on Oct. 20 and was not placed on injured reserve. After returning, Lindros had four assists in two games before leaving the game against the Penguins. He has two goals and four assists in eight games this season.

Lindros has been sidelined for 78 games since the 1997-98 season due to injuries. The only game he missed in 2002-03 was due to a suspension, but he had just 19 times and added 34 assists - both career lows.

What team will show up tonight??? The team that mandhandled the Hurricanes on Thursday or the team that lost in OT to an AHL calibre line-up. Alfredsson should be back in the line-up tonight, but Havlat is most likely sitting. This is the Senators first back-to-back game since playing San Jose and Anaheim in the beginning of October.

Manhandled the Hurricanes? Ottawa may have beaten the Hurricanes 6-1... but when I turned on the game with about two minutes to go in the first period, Ottawa had not yet had a single shot on net. And then they scored six? Whatswiththat?

True, they didn't register a shot until that mark of the game, but they also outchanced them something like 6-1, but missed the net on a few and hit the post on another occassion. They certainly outplayed them in that first period!!!
