(Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Lightning will try to extend their season- high four-game winning streak this afternoon, when they visit the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum.
The Lightning earned their latest victory Saturday in Buffalo against the Eastern Conference-leading Sabres. Brad Richards scored the game-winning goal in the final frame to lift Tampa Bay to the 3-2 triumph at HSBC Arena.
Vincent Lecavalier scored a goal to extend his point streak to six games for Tampa Bay, while Martin St. Louis notched an assist to register at least a point in 10 straight games.
Marc Denis turned aside 32 shots for the Lightning.
The last time the Lightning won five consecutive games was from November 27- December 10 of last season.
The Islanders are coming off Saturday's loss to visiting New Jersey. Scott Gomez's goal 3:40 into overtime lifted the Devils over New York, 2-1, at the Coliseum.
