(Sports Network) - The Atlanta Thrashers will try to get back on the winning track tonight when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning at St. Pete Times Forum.
The Thrashers had a four-game win streak halted on Friday night when the New York Rangers skated into town and picked up a 5-2 victory. Michael Nylander notched two goals and an assist to lead the Blueshirts to the easy triumph.
Ilya Kovalchuk had a goal and an assist and Kari Lehtonen, making his first start in five games, was shelled for five goals on 25 shots for the Thrashers.
Marian Hossa posted an assist in the setback to push his point streak to five games. He has three goals and seven assists during the stretch.
The Lightning will aim for their third straight victory this evening. They ended a four-game road trip Wednesday evening in Pittsburgh and earned an overtime victory. Vincent Lecavalier scored with 2:19 left in the extra session as Tampa Bay continued its dominance of the Penguins with a 4-3 win at the Igloo.
After a Penguins' point shot went wide, Tampa Bay's Martin St. Louis grabbed the puck at the left boards and sent a pass to Lecavalier at center ice. Lecavalier skated in all alone, deked to the backhand and lifted the puck past a sprawled out Fleury for the victory.
