(Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Lightning will try to avoid a third straight loss tonight, as they welcome the Montreal Canadiens to St. Pete Times Forum for the opener of a home-and-home series.

The Lightning had won three straight before dropping consecutive games to Atlanta and Philadelphia.

The latest setback came Thursday evening against the visiting Flyers, as Simon Gagne scored twice and Robert Esche made a career-high 42 saves to lead Philly to the 4-3 win.

Martin St. Louis, Ruslan Fedotenko and Filip Kuba each had a goal for Tampa Bay, while Johan Holmqvist stopped 22 shots in defeat.

The Lightning, who are 9-11-0 as the host this year, complete a brief two-game homestand tonight. They will then kick off a four-game road trip with Tuesday's test in Montreal.

As for the Canadiens, they are coming off Friday's setback against the Florida Panthers. Ed Belfour made 32 saves to post his 466th career victory and Florida notched the 3-1 home win at Bank Atlantic Center. Ville Peltonen, Nathan Horton and Greg Campbell scored for the Panthers.

This is going to be a hard game for the lightning to win, Montreal is a very good team right now and has their numbers on Tampa. They have won 5 of last 6 games and first 2 of the season. Tampa has GOT to do something losing to the worst team in the NHL the other night is not what should be happening. They don't have any major injuries and have a number of talented players. Coaching change??
