Nashville Predators centre David Legwand, Dallas Stars goaltender Marty Turco and Pittsburgh Penguins centre Evgeni Malkin have been named the NHL's Three Stars for the week ending Jan. 21.

Legwand led all NHL players in goals (five) and points (nine) in four games and tallied the game-winning goal in three contests as the Predators moved into first place in the league's overall standings.

Turco provided a lift for the injury-hampered Stars and established a franchise milestone by posting a 3-0-0 record with a 1.30 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage, turning aside 63 of 67 shots. He recorded 20 saves in a 3-1 victory over Los Angeles Jan. 15, made 18 saves and notched his fourth assist of the season in a 4-2 victory over Calgary Jan. 17 and blocked 25 of 26 shots, plus seven of nine shootout attempts, in a 2-1 victory at Minnesota Jan. 20.

With the win, his 161st with Dallas, Turco moved into first place on the Stars' all-time victories list, passing Ed Belfour.

Malkin ranked second in league scoring for the week with eight points (two goals, six assists) in three games as the Penguins improved to eighth place in the Eastern Conference. He recorded an assist in a 5-2 victory over the New York Islanders Jan. 16, notched a pair of goals in a 5-4 shootout loss at Boston Jan. 18 and tallied a career-high five assists in an 8-2 victory over Toronto Jan. 20.
