Leafs' Wellwood to undergo surgery

Sources tell TSN that Kyle Wellwood of the Toronto Maple Leafs is scheduled to undergo surgery tomorrow.

Wellwood has been out of the Leafs' lineup since December 22 because of a problem with his hip and groin.

I doubt his back in time for the remander of the season.

Too bad, at least his roster spot will be used to develope another youngster but I really enjoyed watching Wellwood become one of the best players on the ice.

I hope when he does come back, he doens't loose a step or anything.

I just found out he'll be gone for six to eight weeks.

Maybe his got Sundin like healing abilities and be back sooner though.
