Sources tell TSN that Kyle Wellwood of the Toronto Maple Leafs is scheduled to undergo surgery tomorrow.

Wellwood has been out of the Leafs' lineup since December 22 because of a problem with his hip and groin.

DUDE!!! :eek: My God, what just happened?

Do hips heal up fast after surgery? I don't know about that....

Leafs forward Kyle Wellwood to undergo surgery for sports hernia

TORONTO (CP) - Toronto Maple Leafs forward Kyle Wellwood will undergo surgery for a sports hernia, the NHL club announced Monday night.

Wellwood, 23, will have the operation Tuesday. The Maple Leafs did not say how long the five-foot-10, 180-pound forward would will need to recover from the surgery.

Say what?! A hernia?! Will he even be back for the end of the season? :dunno:

I doubt his back in time for the remander of the season.

Too bad, at least his roster spot will be used to develope another youngster but I really enjoyed watching Wellwood become one of the best players on the ice.

I hope when he does come back, he doens't loose a step or anything.
