(Sports Network) - The Toronto Maple Leafs will try to avoid a third consecutive loss tonight, when they welcome the New York Islanders to Air Canada Centre.
The Maple Leafs were in action Saturday night against the visiting Devils and were handed a 2-1 loss. Martin Brodeur stopped 33-of-34 shots and Jamie Langenbrunner and Patrik Elias each scored a goal to lead New Jersey.
Darcy Tucker scored the lone goal for the Maple Leafs, while netminder Mikael Tellqvist had a solid night in goal, stopping 17-of-19 New Jersey shots.
With an assist in the contest, Toronto defenseman Bryan McCabe extended his point streak to five games.
The Leafs may have No. 1 goaltender Andrew Raycroft back in the crease tonight. Raycroft, who is 9-4-2 in 15 games this year, has sat out the last three contests with a groin injury.
The Islanders were also in action on Saturday, but they picked up a win at Florida. Mike Dunham stopped 43 shots to lead the Islanders to the 4-1 victory over the Panthers at BankAtlantic Center.
