(Sports Network) - Just a few weeks ago the Toronto Maple Leafs were drawing close to the Buffalo Sabres in the Northeast Division.

Now, not so much.

The Leafs have lost three straight games, and six of their last eight overall. On Thursday they were pounded, 5-0, in Atlanta. Kari Lehtonen stopped 36 shots for his league-leading fourth shutout of the season for the Thrashers.

Andrew Raycroft stopped 22 shots for the slumping Maple Leafs.

Toronto was shut out for the first time this season.

The Maple Leafs' offensive attack has sputtered of late, scoring a mere two goals during the current losing streak.
