(Sports Network) - After getting their road trip off to a great start on Tuesday, the Toronto Maple Leafs look to continue their recent winning ways when they visit Madison Square Garden tonight to take on the New York Rangers.
Toronto kicked off its five-game swing with an impressive performance in Raleigh last night. Nik Antropov scored two goals and Andrew Raycroft made 28 saves as the Maple Leafs came through with a 4-1 triumph over the Carolina Hurricanes.
Bates Battaglia also scored for Toronto, which won for the fourth time in five games, and Tomas Kaberle sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the final minute.
The Maple Leafs have now posted wins in five of their last six road outings and are a solid 13-9-3 away from home this season.
New York has also played well as of late, having won both of their contests following the All-Star break. The Rangers overmatched the slumping Boston Bruins their last time out, cruising to a 6-1 decision Monday at TD Banknorth Garden.
The line of Petr Prucha, Matt Cullen and Jed Ortmeyer did most of the damage for New York in Monday's triumph. Prucha finished with two goals and an assist, Cullen amassed a goal and two helpers and Ortmeyer dished out a career-best three assists.
Henrik Lundqvist was sharp between the pipes, as the Rangers' netminder stopped 29 of 30 chances.
