TORONTO (CP) - Doug Gilmour is back with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The NHL team hired its former captain on Friday to become the player personnel advisor to general manager John Ferguson.

Gilmour twice played for the Maple Leafs and retired as a member of the team after suffering a serious knee injury in 2003.

Finally, someone with a little credibility is actually being added into the Leaf office. Good move.

At least Dougie's love for this team will never be questioned.

Now, hopefully JFJ is gone next year.

Yeah, something tells me Doug would have a decent eye for talent. He was never the biggest or quickest so he'd look for the small intangibles that can make a player great.

And yeah like you said, it's good to get someone with some cred up there.
