(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Kings will attempt to record consecutive victories for the first time in a month when the club starts up a three-game road trip tonight by visiting the Edmonton Oilers.

The Kings put an end to a four-game losing streak by pulling out a 4-3 shootout win over Phoenix Tuesday at the Staples Center. Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown each had goals during the deciding phase, while goaltender Barry Brust made a pair of key stops in the shootout.

Sean Avery sent the contest into overtime by scoring with just 38 seconds left in regulation, while Derek Armstrong and Rob Blake also lit the lamp during a three-goal barrage for Los Angeles in the third period. Brust added 27 saves prior to the shootout.

The Kings have not recorded back-to-back wins since defeating Calgary and New Jersey at home from November 25-27. Los Angeles will also have to overcome their season-long struggles on the road, where the team is just 4-11-0 so far.

Edmonton has also gone through some tough times lately. The Oilers have dropped three of four and five of its last seven contests, including Tuesday's 3-2 setback at Dallas.
