(Sports Network) - The sliding Los Angeles Kings begin a season-long five- game road trip tonight, when they face off against the Florida Panthers at BankAtlantic Center.
The Kings, who are last in the Western Conference with 41 points, have dropped three straight tests and are coming off Thursday's overtime setback to visiting Chicago. Lasse Kukkonen's fifth goal of the season just 57 seconds into OT lifted the Blackhawks to the 3-2 win.
Alex Frolov and Jamie Lundmark scored for the Kings, who have also dropped 10 of their last 11 contests. Sean Burke stopped 28 shots in the loss.
The Kings have struggled on the road this season, posting a 6-18-0 mark as the visiting club.
Meanwhile, the Panthers won for the third time in four games on Thursday, as they earned a 6-3 home win over the Washington Capitals. Jozef Stumpel and Martin Gelinas each had a pair of goals for Florida.
