(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Kings try to put the brakes on a two-game skid tonight when they welcome the Detroit Red Wings to the Staples Center.

The Kings are coming off a two-game home series sweep at the hands of unbeaten Dallas, both by 4-1 scores. On Saturday, Brenden Morrow scored a pair of power-play goals to lift the Stars.

Michael Cammalleri scored Los Angeles' lone tally and Mathieu Garon allowed all four goals on 28 shots faced for the Kings, who had won two-in-a-row before the current skid.

The Kings will host Minnesota on Wednesday.

Detroit, meanwhile, had a two-game winning spurt halted in Friday's 3-2 shootout loss to visiting Buffalo. Ales Kotalik's shootout goal lifted the Sabres. With the shootout even, Kotalik went to the backhand to beat Dominik Hasek.

The Red Wings lost despite outshooting the Sabres by a 43-17 margin.
