(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Kings continue their homestand tonight, as they welcome the Colorado Avalanche to the Staples Center.
The Kings began the stand with Thursday's loss to the Nashville Predators. Chris Mason stopped 20 shots to help the Preds earn the 4-1 win in the City of Angels.
Alexander Frolov scored the lone goal and Dan Cloutier made 23 saves in the loss for the Kings, who have dropped three of their last four games.
LA is currently fourth in the Pacific Division with 24 points, but is just two ahead of last-place Phoenix.
The Kings, who are 7-7-4 as the hosts this year, will wrap up their stand against San Jose on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Colorado is coming off a road victory in San Jose, as it beat the Sharks by a 5-2 count on Thursday. Brett Clark and Joe Sakic each had two goals and an assist to lead the Avs to the triumph at HP Pavilion.
