(Sports Network) - The two bottom feeders of the Western Conference are set to tangle tonight when the Los Angeles Kings host the Chicago Blackhawks at Staples Center.

Chicago is 14th overall in the conference with just 43 points, while the Kings sit at the bottom with 40 points.

The Blackhawks kick off a season-long seven-game road trip in LA on a high note after downing the Calgary Flames 4-3 in overtime on Sunday. Denis Arkhipov scored a pair of goals, including the game-winning overtime tally.

James Wisniewski and Jeff Hamilton provided the other goals, while Nikolai Khabibulin made 19 saves for his 16th win of the year.

The victory put the brakes on a 10-game losing streak for the Blackhawks, who haven't won back-to-back games since December 16-17. Chicago will also hope to improve on its 7-12-4 road mark this season tonight.

The Kings come into the contest having lost nine of their last 10. On Tuesday, Mike Cammalleri netted the lone goal in Los Angeles' 4-1 setback to Calgary. The tally gave Cammalleri five goals and five assists in his last nine games.

Sean Burke played well, making 29 saves, but dropped to 1-2-0 since Los Angeles picked him up off waivers. The club continues to be without goaltenders Mathieu Garon and Dan Cloutier, who are both on injured reserve and are out indefinitely.
