(Sports Network) - The bottom two teams in the Western Conference meet this afternoon for the finale of a home-and-home series, as the Los Angeles Kings host the Phoenix Coyotes at Staples Center.
The Coyotes and Kings met for the opener on Thursday night at Jobing.com Arena and Jeremy Roenick had a goal and an assist to lead Phoenix to the 3-2 triumph.
Bill Thomas and Shane Doan also scored, while Curtis Joseph made 19 saves for the Coyotes, who snapped a five-game losing streak. With 65 points, Phoenix is at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, a point behind the Kings. Each team will miss the playoffs for a fourth straight season.
Michael Cammalleri had a goal and notched an assist, Tom Kostopoulos also scored, and Sean Burke finished with 35 saves for Los Angeles. The Kings have dropped six straight and 14 of their last 16 overall.
