As a fan of a team that desperately needs a goalie for next season, I started looking for reasonable options and the Canadiens goalie duo is one of the top ones on the list. First off, who do you guys think they are most likely to get rid of, if either of them. Halak has been the better goalie this season and I've also read that Price could benefit from a new team, but then again weren't they hoping on Price being their franchise goalie? So overall, what does everyone think the futures of these goalies will look like and what are the chances one of them could end up playing for the Flyers.

Get rid of Price, for both their sakes. Halak has been phenomenal this year for them and deserves a legitimate shot at the number one spot, while Price is booed when he's the third star of a home game in a 2-1 loss. Price in Montreal is looking more and more like a complete disaster waiting to happen.
So what do you think some good teams for him would be?

Edmonton, San Jose, St. Louis, Philadelphia, and Tampa Bay would all give him the chance to be a starter next season. If he's willing to wait a little, then New Jersey and Colorado could be good fits as well.
I think Price behind Brodeur could be good for him. Brodeur could take more breaks and Price would get to learn behind one of the best and probably become great in a year or two. Brodeur might also be able to teach him how to improve his confidence and mental strength

Well, you're not going to get booed when you're the third star in Jersey, so his confidence will rise there. Twelve fans don't make that much noise.

Halak is a great goalie. Price has shown he can be great aswell, but is having some issues.

I think Price could easliy be as good a goalie as Halak. To say he will be better, with the way Halak has played is just silly.

I think Management wants to keep Price but once the fans are boo-ing you c'mon, they have to move him.

I agree. I have been saying on these boards that Halak will be the one to go, and we even did that deal in the Iowa thread with him moving to Philly. It's just after the fans start boo-ing you. Especially in MTL, man that is rough.

For the sake of Price's carreer I hope they get him out of there before he gets frustrated.

THe problem is the best thing for MTL to do is still trade Halak. Seriously, which goalie would you pay more for right now?

No 1 Goalie

I never understood why any teams need to have a no 1 goalie. If a goalie is hot one night the team could leave him at his post the entire game if not they could alternate, first period one goalie the next the other and finally the third the one that seemed more at ease against the team playing them that night.:bt
Anyway if one of them has to go then I would suggest that Washington is in need of a good solid goalie and Price would enjoy playing with a top team (I know they did great throughout the season but poorly in the playoffs).:beer

Well it's one thing to perform, but what Halak did was outstanding. Price has some big shoes to fill because if the Canadiens play like they did in the playoffs he will have to put the whole team on his back.

Let's see what Price will do now that he signed his contract. He has all the pressure on his shoulders now that the management clearly identified him as the no. 1 goalie.

I Price he doesn't turn into another Theodore after he won the Hart and Vezina at the end of the 2001-2002 season. He sucked big time the next season and was traded not long after.

I wish Halak good luck in St. Louis.

I would choose Halak any day but he's now with the Blues. :beer
