NEW YORK (AP) - New York Rangers defenceman Darius Kasparaitis was sent down to the Hartford Wolfpack of the AHL on Tuesday for a 10-day conditioning assignment.
The hard-hitting Kasparaitis has gotten off to a slow start this season, missing the first five games while recovering from off-season injuries and trying to get back into hockey shape.
That has been a slow process, as the 34-year-old Kasparaitis has one assist and 10 penalty minutes in six games this season. He is also a minus-5 for the Rangers, who have stumbled out of the gate with six losses in their first 11 games.
