The Montreal Juniors faced off against one of the Q's powerhouses on Friday night at the Verdun Auditorium, falling by a score of 7-3.

The Junior got off to a quick start with Matthew Brenton tallied an unassisted goal at 1:07 for his 11th of the season, beating goalie Marco Cousineau. The lead would not last long however, as Drummondville's Sean Couturier got his team on the board when he beat goalie Jake Allen at 2:05. With only seconds to go in the period, Junior Frank Grzeszczak was assessed a penalty and Voltigeurs Chris DiDominico was awarded a penalty shot but was unable to convert.

Entering the second tied at one, the Voltiguers continued to fire pucks at Jake Allen, out-shooting the Juniors 26 to 5 in the first period. The Voltigeurs offense kept coming, as Gabriel Dumont found the back of the net for his 23rd of the season at 3:47. The Voltigeurs struck again at the 16:07 mark when Jonathan Brunelle beat goalie Jake Allen for his 7th of the season.

The third period was not kind to the Juniors with the Voltigeurs scoring more goals, while the Juniors were only able to tally one. Drummondville's Sean Couturier scored his second goal of the night, while Mike Hoffman scored two goals in the period for his 45th and 46th of the season, Jonathan Brunelle also tallied for Drummondville. Juniors Nick Layton and Jérémy Gouchie each scored in the period, bringing the final score to 7-3 in Drummondville's favor.

The Junior will look to restore their winning ways at home on Sunday afternoon, as they face off against the Lewiston MAINEiacs at 4:30pm. The Junior welcome you to a spring break celebration with all children under the age of 12 with free admittance on Sunday afternoon! Please keep in mind the offer will last only until maximum capacity.
