Well, it's the drama game of the year for us. We have two players returning to their previous arena; Jose Theodore and Patrice Brisebois. It won't be a warm welcome for either player, as both have faced their fare share of abuse from Montreal, and most fans believe they are better without them.

But nonetheless, it will be a very emotional night, and we'll see how both players handle it.

On the other spectrum of things, Aebi sees his team for the first time since being traded. If he gets the start tonight, we'll see how he handles it.

Game starts at 5:00 Mountain Time, go Avs!

It all started before that....when he got his big contract....thats where it went downhill....he asked for the big money and threaten the club to move out if he didnt get his money....well he got that money and didnt repay anyone including the supporters who pay big money. When you become an ******* in negotations, well here people will judge you by your performance once you threaten the club and he failed miserably.
He may have had a big contract, but you can't say that the Canadians put a lot of pressure on him. The Canadians were and off again on again team in the playoffs who were looking to go far, he brought them into the playoffs a couple times, and a few other times they just barely got edged out. You can't completely say that it was all his fault.

Oh psh, get over it, he did so much for your club, and you can realize that or not.
He onlyt had one great year, after that he was either decent at best or mediocre, dont give me that crap he gave us great service, Patrick Roy gave alot for the club, Guy Carbonneau gave alot for the club, Boom Geoffrion gave alot for the club, Dickie Moore gave alot for the club (notice that all those players were kicked out by the club like Theo, the only difference is when they returned to Montreal, they were cheered and not booed), Theo didnt give anything apârt from that one fluke season and now the chicken **** didnt even want to face the media after the huge loss, what a headless chicken he is....in worse of times, Patrick Roy always talked to the media regardless who won or lost, thats the difference between a champion and guy who thinks he's a champion

Whether you're capable of admitting it is irrelevant; Theodore has done plenty for Montreal over the past decade. He won them games they had no buisiness winning, he put them into a playoff scenario when they should've been golfing, and dragged their candy asses kicking and screaming through playoff rounds. 2002 wasn't some "fluke", in his time as a starter he's had three elite seasons, two above-average seasons, and one bad season when the entire team fell apart. Remember in 2004 Theodore was considered the third-best Canadian goalie in the world? What's changed since then? One bad season...Broduer also had his statistically worst season last year, is anyone calling for his head? Luongo has never had better stats than Theodore, so why is he better? Luongo was on a Panthers team just as pitiful as the Habs of the past five years, but couldn't single-handedly carry his team into the playoffs like Theodore did.

You can argue that he has Roy's Vezina or Iginla's Hart but it doesn't change the fact that without Theodore the Habs would've been dead last in league standings. You think Theodore was the problem? Montreal's goal differential in his time as a starter has been -40...how is any team supposed to win games when their forwards don't know which way to put on their helmets? Not even Roy could've helped those bums win anything (and incidently, Roy's stats during his time in Montreal are worse than Theodore's). Theodore's real "fluke" season came at a time when Montreal fired their coach, their best player had a whopping 68 points, and your idiot fans couldn't realize that instead of giving support to their best chance at staying about .500, they should boo him instead. Classy. I'm sure your death threat was in the mail but just missed Theodore as he skipped town.

But I'm sure you can be happy that you no longer have Theodore, instead you have your savior Huet!...who lost his starting job...or Aebischer!...who let in five goals, incase you didn't notice...or Price! And so it goes, forever until you find the next Roy or Theodore and then proceed to drive him out of Montreal, into the waiting arms of a competant GM that cares about stopping pucks, and not about French Canadians or Propecia or locker-room cliques or talking to a feeding frenzy media.

I think you guys missed your chance. You think Huet will be the best goalie you guys have ever had. That he will win you the cup, but the fact is, Theo is a lot better. Huet is back where he was at the begining of last year; on the bench. Theo is on the ice. You've had two terrific goalies, and gave them to us. Theodore has started more games then Abie. You guys can't think that one season will define him for the rest of his entire goaltending career. When he played for you, he was your backbone, and has Phish said, Won games you guys had no business winning. You guys boo your goalie, because of a few bad games. You guys will regret trading him.

Haha, Kermit, I don't think even they can force themselves to believe Huet is the best goalie they've ever had. Lets face it, Budaj is looking better than him so far.

Hasn't Huet been sidelined a little early this year? I think that may be a reason his performance isn't what some may expect.

As for Theodore, he is the definition of a flash in the pan. Can anyone name any season other than his Hart and Vezina winning season that was really a standout performance. Jose Theodore like Mike Ribiero, Anson Carter, and Trevor Linden is one of those players who is an underachiever. He is a talented guy with the ability to post great numbers, but more often then not he doesn't. The game of hockey isn't as important as it is to other elite NHL talents like Alexander Ovechkin, Joe Sakic, and Roberto Luongo.

Jose Theodore has more off ice distraction than he does an on ice work ethic. He's been with Paris Hilton we know that, he's also been involved in a long legal battle with his then neighbor in Montreal. That's just a rumor I heard sometime in the last two years. I'll probably look for a source sometime.

Theodore was traded for AEBISCHER AND AEBISHER is giving us good money in return, so I dont get your point about Huet...he isnt part of the deal...and as for Theo giving us best service when we had a poor team, he wasnt exactly memorable in the playoffs either except vs the Bruins in 2002, but then got litterally trashed vs the Canes with alot of soft goals especially in the game wherte they got eliminated.

im sorry, he was just a good goalie at best among others who had 1 great year, but never worth that 5.5 million dollars

Kids, this is what we call a "double standard". You're so willing to make excuses for Huet's 3.15 GAA but when Theodore has a bad season, it's not A) a lousy coach B) classless fans or C) personal problems, it's his own damn fault. Nice.

As for Theodore, he is the definition of a flash in the pan. Can anyone name any season other than his Hart and Vezina winning season that was really a standout performance.
Code:
Year GAA	SV%	SO

 1999-00	[b]2.10[/b]	[b].919	5[/b]
 2000-01	2.57	.909	2
 2001-02	[b]2.11[/b]	[b].931	7[/b]
 2002-03	2.90	.908	2
 2003-04	[b]2.27[/b]	[b].919	6[/b]
 2005-06	3.46	.881	0
The bold is what I consider a "standout performance", and unless your name is Terry Sawchuk, I think you'd agree. Of the three non-bolded seasons, one is what I'd consider pretty good (Broduer's GAA last season was identical to Theodore's 01), one is what I'd consider average but not bad (Lehtonen's GAA last season was identical to Theodore's 03), one is what I'd consider pretty bad. And in that last season, his coach was fired and fans turned on him each night. So I'm willing to give him some slack.

You cannot seriously think Luongo is better than Theodore.
1) Theodore has dragged his worthless-ass team into the playoffs, Luongo hasn't.
2) Theodore has dragged his worthless-ass team to the next round of the playoffs, Luongo hasn't.
3) Theodore has had his worthless-ass team with worthless-ass management and worthless-ass fans turn on him in the space of two months, Luongo hasn't.
4) Theodore has the hardware; we can debate about the 2002 and 2004 Vezina voting but the end result is the end result and there's no crying in hockey.

Pay very close attention Lossy, I'm going to show you why the Habs will never win a Stanley Cup without a Roy- or Theodore-like talent. I'll put it in really big letters, just so it sinks in.

I DON'T CARE.

I could not care less if Theodore is doing hardcore porno movies and running a meth lab out of his basement. Stopping pucks is the only thing I ask of a goalie. And unlike Montreal's players, management, and fans, the overwhelming majority of Colorado's players, management, and fans agree with me. Which is why there's no longer the ludricrous pressure for Theodore to live like a French-Canadian choir boy. And if fans like want to keep trashing him for his personal life, go ahead, because you're the only ones left who still give a rat's left nut.

Theodore got trashed against the Canes in 2002? Wrong. The Habs scored only 12 goals in those six games, and that is pitiful. Theodore may have lost Montreal one or two games, but the 18 guys infront of him lost Montreal the series.

im sorry, he was just a good goalie at best among others who had 1 great year, but never worth that 5.5 million dollars
While I agree with the latter part of this, the former is laughable, as I've proved again and again and again and again.

Sorry, Phish kinda said all I had to say, so lets just say, I concur. As far as your logic permits, Huet has only had one standout performance, 05-06.

And so far, he's not really playing up to his contract either...so yeah.
I still dont get your point on Huet...he has nothing to do with Theo, he wasnt even in the deal and he isnt even our number one goalie, both Aebisher and Huet are sharing that spot until one gets the advantage...so far its Aebisher who's been far better than Mr. 5,5 mill goalie
