MISSISSAUGA, Ont. (CP) - John Hughes set up a pair of goals and the Brampton Battalion rebounded to beat the Mississauga IceDogs 3-2 Friday night in the Ontario Hockey League.
Hughes, acquired by the Battalion earlier this month in a trade with the Belleville Bulls, set up Michal Klejna for a first-period goal and then drew an assist on a third-period marker by Mike Lomas as Brampton shook off a 10-1 loss to Toronto on Thursday night to boost its record to 8-14-1-2.
Howie Martin scored what proved to be the winning goal midway through the third period when he capitalised on a Mississauga turnover and beat IceDogs' goaltender Andrew Loverock with a short wrist shot.
