The starter for Leamington was Mike Morrissette and between the pipes, picking up the win for the Blast was John Faulkner.

1st Period: Sarnia opened the scoring at the 1:34 mark on a Matt Abercrombie goal from Kyle Verbeek and Matt Parkes. Leamington made a tender change right after this goal was scored. Taking over the goaltending duties was Frank Dayus. Sarnia capitalized with the two man advantage on a Kyle Verbeek power play goal at 13:32 that he banged into the net from the open side. Assists on the goal went to Wayd Pitfield and Matt Abercrombie. Shots on goal: Leamington - 14 Sarnia - 11. The Flyers were 0 for 3 with the man advantage this period and Sarnia went 1 for 2 on the power play.

2nd Period: The Blast took a three goal lead into the dressing room on the strength of a Brad Houston goal. Stealing the puck and making his way between two Flyers, Brad was streaking his way toward the net when he was brought down and while falling, he let go a shot that found its way into the net before he joined it there. Shots on goal: Leamington - 15/29 Sarnia - 7/18. Leamington was 0 for 1 on the only power play chance of this period.

3rd Period: Back in net for the Flyers this period was Morrissette. Sarnia took the first minor this period, a hooking penalty at 5:39 to Greg Turner. Leamington took a time out with a face-off deep in Blast territory and still over a minute of power play time. When play resumed, they pulled their goalie for a sixth attacker, but were unable to get anything behind Sarnia's Faulkner. At 9:18, Brad Houston struck again, this time unassisted. Scoring the hat trick was Brad Houston with 3:21 left in the game. After being banged into the boards face first, he picked himself up off the ice and skated in on net to take a pass from Matt Parkes to get this natural hat trick. Picking up the second assist was Matt Abercrombie. Shots on goal: Leamington - 17/46 Sarnia - 8/26. Leamington was 0 for 2 with the man advantage this period and 0 for 6 in the game. Sarnia was 0 for 1 on the power play during this 20 minutes of play and were 1 for 3 in the game.
